Dr. TULLY MCDONALD
Tully graduated with a double Bachelor of Health Science/ Applied Science (Osteopathy) from RMIT University, Victoria. Having grown up in Byron Bay surfing, in a comfortable temperature ocean water, Tully is happy to be back up north. While being a mad supporter of the Western Bulldogs he’s involved on a local level playing with the Noosa Tigers.
He first encountered Osteopathy after a knee injury playing football as a teenager and was immediately drawn by the broad and holistic approach taken to help treat my condition. “Learning that that the pain in both my knees was coming from chronic postural, back and pelvis issues” sparked a keen interest to learn about anatomy, the complexity of the human body and a determination to empower others stuck in similar situations.
As a practitioner Tully strives to provide holistic manual therapy with an emphasis on structure and function. Having personal experience he has a keen interest in acute sporting injuries, furthering his knowledge working as a sports trainer among sports physicians.
“I have always been a big believer in a patient centred care approach to treatment, providing each patient with the necessary knowledge and tools to take control of their own health outcomes. Prevention is always better then cure, this has always resonated with me and therefore I have a passion and interest for strength and rehabilitation.”
In 2019, Tully underwent further training in Myofascial Dry Needling, which can be used in addition to standard Osteopathic treatments to facilitate treatment and recovery outcomes.
